The Sales Support Specialist will be responsible for assisting Account Managers in sales of compressed air equipment and systems, including: air compressors, air-dryers, blowers, vacuum systems, filtration, turnkey installations and various compressed air accessories.  We are offer a competitive starting salary, plus benefit package and potential for company profit sharing.

 Essential Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and edit request for proposals
  • Provide clarification on quotation questions
  • Determine pricing and availability through online systems / negotiations with product business
  • Visit prospective and current customer sites where necessary
  • Assist Account Managers with data logging and preparation of reports and presentations
  • Obtain credit approvals, as needed
  • Develop proposals and determine status of proposal on customers’ smaller, routine orders
  • Verify customers’ orders against quotation and resolve any discrepancies
  • Enter orders on appropriate product business
  • Assure compliance with customer contract requirements
  • Expedite orders to meet customer’s requirements
  • Verify shipment of equipment
  • Investigate shortages, damages, and missing equipment
  • Coordinate and document all modifications to orders, including; drawing changes and bill of material changes
  • Adjust pricing accordingly
  • Assist in resolution of claims and incorrect invoices
  • Submit spare parts proposal to customer and expedite all customer-specified documents
  • Assist in proactively resolving customer issues
  • Be a key liaison with Field sales and product / service businesses to achieve account plan goals
  • Provide technical assistance to the customer and other Sales Associates, as necessary
  • Assist Account Managers and Product Business personnel in developing winning strategies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager

Desired Characteristics

  • Business-to-business outside sales experience preferred
  • A professional demeanour providing courteous, knowledgeable assistance to customers and co-workers.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills with the ability to perform duties without direct supervision
  • Self-motivated and goal-driven with a proactive attitude
  • Basic fundamental understanding of sales skills and techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Ability to acquire a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Ability to interpret and decipher specs and to comprehend specific customer requirements
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to a high level of change
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g., MS Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and typing proficiency a must
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to effectively work within a diverse environment

Education and Certifications
